The MMR Performance Top Mount Charge Cooler for the S55 engine found in the F87 M2 Competition improves power and torque output significantly by substantially reducing charge air temperatures versus the OE cooling setup. This race-proven cooler really is essential for every stage of tuning on any high performance S55-engined M-car.
The factory charge cooler used on the S55 engine has proved to be unable to cope with the demands of higher power, hard driven cars, showing up as serious power losses during hard driving as air temperatures soar.
Our massive replacement Charge Cooler is the best performing cooler upgrade on offer for the S55. The intercooler core was developed specifically for the high requirements of the BMW M2C/M3/M4 and offers an incredible 114% more external core volume compared to the stock cooler.
Our development focussed on finding the ‘sweet spot’ of maximum IAT cooling versus minimum pressure loss. This has allowed us to achieve increased size without increased lag. By consistently reducing intake air temperatures (IAT), heat soak is minimised delivering increased performance again and again. No need for the recovery cool-down times needed for the production cooler.
The core itself uses internal turbulators to improve its cooling performance and the CFD optimised cast end tanks assist with maintaining the best possible airflow across the core.
Note - this is not applicable for the original BMW M2 with N55 engine.

> Please note, for fitment on M2 Competition, slight trimming of the underside bonnet bracing will be required (or fitment of the CS bonnet). This is not visible on the outside, and doesn't affect exterior paint.
